Dear Covert Public Schools Parents, Staff, and Community Members:

There is nothing more important to Covert Public School than the safety and health of our students, staff, and their families.  We are working directly with county health officials to address the recent confirmed COVID-19 cases in our district, and out of an abundance of caution, Covert Public Schools will move to remote learning for all grades until Tuesday, December 8th.  In-person school will resume on Wednesday, December 9th.  Covert Public Schools will be 100% remote for the following reasons:

1. We need to give the Health Department time to determine the risk for community spread at Covert Public Schools through their contact tracing.

2. We are going to deep clean and sanitize the building without staff and students present.

Our goal is to return to in-person learning on Wednesday, December 9th for grades K-12.  9-12 remains in remote learning due to the order through the health department through Tuesday, December 8th.  If this changes, we will let you know via SchoolMessenger (our automated telephone call system), Facebook, and on our website.

As more cases are being confirmed across the state, it is important to remain vigilant. We appreciate our families who are keeping students home to err on the side of caution.  We will continue to work with families to ensure that students are receiving instruction remotely.

If your student has any of the following symptoms, you must keep them home from school!

  • new loss of taste or smell
  • a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher
  • sore throat
  • an uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing
  • the onset of a severe headache
  • diarrhea and/or vomiting or unusual belly pain

Our greatest priority is the safety of our students, staff, and community members. Please continue to take necessary precautions to protect yourself and those around you. It is important to remember that children are greatly influenced by the reactions of adults when facing difficult circumstances. I encourage everyone to remain calm and to be empathetic and respectful to those affected.
We are grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your family, especially as we face

this challenging situation together. Thank you for your support of Covert Public Schools.

Bulldog Strong!
